Solidarity Screens aims to foster cross-collaborative programming between three entities, prioritizing cinema from the Global South, particularly focusing on cinemas from Africa, Asia, South America and the SWANA region. By decentering Western cinema and exploring racial, cultural, and geographic diversity beyond the established and often eurocentric canon, the partners seek to establish an alternative distribution and circulation system, fostering solidarity among historically marginalized regions and entities. Their goal is to create a network that promotes cinema that challenges dominant narratives and unsettles the pervasiveness of the white, Western gaze.
