Founoun Chamila Phou runs the CinéMadart, a movie theater in Carthage that aims to strike a balance in its programming between artistic and entertaining films. Alongside its more popular screenings, CinéMadart brings in alternative selections, drawing from its membership in both NAAS l Network of Arab Alternative Screens and of CICAE (International Confederation of Art Cinemas). This allows the theater to support national production while also allowing its audience to engage with world cinemas. 

The Founoun Chamila Phou entity has run CinéMadart since 1994. Community engagement is at the heart of its present vision for what the space should be, as the Founoun Chamila Phou wants to put forward a space that allows for discovery and open exchange.
