Dead-Lift is a visual theatrical work that explores the recurring disappearance of The Camel of Burdens, a painting by Sliman Mansour, an iconic symbol of Palestinian resilience. The artwork, depicting a man carrying an entire country on his back, will be brought to the stage, as a way to depict the body's capacity for endurance and the conflict between symbolism and personhood.
