The Adventures of a Hypothetical Self examines the experience of migration and how circumstance affects one’s decision making. The performance will look at the journey of Yara Bou Nassar’s parents from Paris and Beirut, linking their past departure with the current reality of Beirut, collective exile and mourning. The text used in the performance explores the intersections of these events and what remains suspended between reality and imagination.
