Weladna LLC (Makouk) encourages playful learning and aims to create empowered communities in the Arab world that embrace curiosity, lifelong learning, and the joy of play.

At the core of this pursuit for Makouk is the creation of educational products in Arabic that address issues like cultural diversity, environmental policy and community building. 

Makouk's initiatives include the development of playful learning resources, such as games that tackle culturally relevant themes, children's books, including a series of folk stories in colloquial Egyptian Arabic, and educational tools like flashcards, coloring books, and an interactive map of Egypt. 

Another key initiative is the Mowazi online platform, a crowdsource platform for non-formal education offering a wealth of educational content in Arabic for educators and parents. In addition to online resources, Makouk focuses on capacity building through workshops and training programs for individuals and groups interested in game design, play-based learning, and design arts.

Furthermore, Ma3had Makouk, a Cairo-based community space, serves as a hub for game enthusiasts and designers. It offers workshops on game design, art direction for children's books, anthropology for game designers and writers, and play-based learning tools for parents. The space also features a library of games and books and hosts events such as game nights, jams, and competitions.
