Aisha is a Somali woman living in Cairo’s Ain Shams neighborhood, where many African migrants seek refuge. She works as an informal caregiver for the elderly.

In the underworld of Ain Shams, Aisha falls prey to a criminal ring and is blackmailed into stealing her patients house keys. In between her daily grind, the gloominess of her depressing job and a loveless relationship with an Egyptian cook, a cloud forms over Aisha’s head and she starts hallucinating an ostrich that helps her get over her fears.
