The Egyptian Cassette Archive is an archival research project that aims to preserve and make available the cover designs of Egyptian cassette tapes, as well as to bring attention to the graphic designers, artists, calligraphers, photographers and all others involved in cover art making. The archive uses this visual language as an entry point to the history of recorded music and as a way to recognize the people involved in the Egyptian music industry, including singers, songwriters, composers, musicians, sound engineers, producers, and the record companies.
