The Image and the Regime categorizes and analyzes the relationship of image to money and politics. By “image,” we mean the cultural sector in Lebanon, which includes the formation of the journalistic image, policies of creating archives and the contemporary art market. The project begins with the journalistic images that documented the Lebanese Civil War and looks at three components: image, money, and politics, and their relationship to each other. In addition, it uses the analysis of sociologists, art historians and critics, and compares those approaches to the Lebanese situation based on research, testimonials and accumulated work experiences in the field.
