“The Mothership” centers on a natural dye garden where flowers are harvested to make pigments and textile dyes. Barrada plans to build a state-of-the-art dye lab in a traditional Djbala house for extracting colors from plants, dyeing, storing seeds and hanging textiles. “The Mothership” will be an innovative eco-campus for their own practice, as well as the collective, through collaborations, workshops and residencies.
