Jamil and Milad, two middle-class Christian Syrian brothers in their mid-20s with opposite characters, escape their war-torn country to seek a better future. Jamil is a carpenter, Milad is a trumpeter. They both decide to illegally flee to Europe, at different stages, in the hope of regaining their long-lost sense of home.
Intrigued by their departure, their closest cousin, Wissam, witnesses and films every step of their odyssey from Damascus to Beirut, Berlin and Stockholm, bringing back to life their happy childhood in Syria and questioning along the trip the true meaning of "home".
