Algeria, mid 1980s. During a period of intense political and social unrest emerged the Bollywood film "Janitou” that tells the timeless story of two separated young lovers. Overnight, the film became an unexpected sensation throughout the country, and an integral part of the Algerian popular culture. Using this film as a tool, the filmmaker will confront his country and society to find out about love, gender, and identity in past and contemporary Algeria.
