In 1981, after starring in the narrative film "Circle of Deceit" by German director Volker Schlöndorff, Lebanese militiamen find themselves trapped in a Beirut neighborhood that had been specially secured for the filming. As inhabitants of "the skewed district", exiled within their own home country, they are unable to establish contact with the outside world except through audio letters recorded by their relatives. This performance combines intimate letters, audiotapes, music compositions and excerpts from the film as it explores the boundaries between reality and fiction in times of war.
