Maria Daïf worked for 15 years as a cultural journalist in Morocco before moving into a role that sees her supporting projects with written proposals, ensuring broad public engagement and communication out of a belief that access to culture is a human right.
From December 2015 to October 2019, she was the head manager of the Touria and Abdelaziz Tazi Foundation, as well as its Casablanca-based cultural space l’Uzine. Her artistic direction, multidisciplinary programming, production and mentoring established l’Uzine as a fixture of the Moroccan cultural scene and a mainstay with Casablanca’s young creatives.
She continues to mentor young cultural actors and provide support to emerging and established spaces for building or rebuilding their vision and development strategy, structure and communication strategy. She frequently engages in public engagement strategies, art programs, mentorships and training programs throughout Africa, the Arab world and the Mediterranean region.
In 2023, she was the co-artistic director of Dérive Casablancaise, an event dedicated to the contemporary performing arts in the Mediterranean region.
