AFAC x Netflix Women in Film – Bring Your Story to Life - 2024
Nada Riyadh is an Egyptian filmmaker and a cultural manager. She has managed several multidisciplinary art projects with a focus on women's issues and body politics. Her latest project saw her co-write and co-direct alongside Ayman El Amir the feature documentary The Brink of Dreams (2024), which tells the story of an all-women theater troupe from the south of Egypt. The film won L'Œil d'or for best documentary at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Her short fiction work Fakh (2019) was selected for the official competition of Semaine de la critique, Cannes in 2019.
In 2016, she co-founded the Cairo-based production company Felucca Films. She is an alumnae of various international film programs, including Cannes’s La Fabrique and Next Step programs, Abbara by CultureResource, Swedish Institute Leadership program, Berlinale talents, American Film Showcase and Film Independent.
