AFAC x Netflix Women in Film – Bring Your Story to Life - 2024
Nadia Eliewat is a Jordanian producer, screenwriter and script editor. In 2015, she founded Screen Project, a production company based in Jordan. In 2022, she joined the UAE-based Ta Films as CEO and creative producer to build the company’s slate of films and directors alongside industry veterans Sangeeta Desai and Shivani Pandya.
Nadia is known for producing and co-writing the Lebanese box-office hit Mahbas (2016), which saw over 110,000 people turn out to theaters to see the film in the region; the Jordanian film When Monaliza Smiled (2012); and the first OSN original feature Yellow Bus (2023), which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival - Discovery (TIFF). Yellow Bus won 20 awards on the festival circuit, including the prize for best film at the Joburg Film Festival.
Nadia is also the co-writer and producer of the Yemeni feature film The Station (2024), by Oscar nominated filmmaker Sara Ishaq. The project received funding from AFAC, DFI, Hubert Bals Fund, Jordan Film Fund and CNC (Aide aux Cinémas du Monde). It was selected for screening as part of the L’Atelier at the Cannes Film Festival in 2020. Nadia is also developing two feature films by award winning Saudi filmmaker Mujtaba Saeed: Drowning and Mecca-Berlin.
In 2017, Nadia managed the Dubai Film Market, the business hub of Dubai International Film Festival. She was an associate professor and taught filmmaking at the American University in Dubai between 2010 and 2017.
