Georges Hachem graduated from the Louis Lumière National School in Paris and previously studied Theater at the Lebanese University. Since 1992, he has made several short films as part of acting workshops he regularly conducted in Paris and Beirut. In 2006, Georges returned to Lebanon, where he established and managed the Department of Audiovisual Studies at Antonin University until 2014.
Between 2009 and 2010, Georges wrote and directed Evening Mass (2009), a short narrative, and Stray Bullet (2010), a feature film starring Nadine Labaki. Stray Bullet won the Best Arab Film Award at the Dubai International Film Festival. In 2016, he released his second feature, Still Burning (2016), filmed between Paris and Beirut and starring Wajdi Mouawad, Adila Bendimerad, and Fadi Abi Samra. His most recent work, Were it Not for Metro (2022), is a documentary about the performers of a renowned Lebanese cabaret show running since 2013 in Beirut. The film won the Best Arab Documentary Award at the Malmo Arab Film Festival in May 2022.
