Youssef Shazli is the co-founder and director of Zawya Cinema and Distribution, an independent platform dedicated to making quality films accessible in Egypt and the region. He also serves as the head of distribution at Misr International Films, where he oversees the restoration and sale of its library titles. Youssef also led the CineGouna Bridge at the Gouna Film Festival’s sixth edition and is currently producing his first feature film. Beyond cinema, Youssef is a DJ and curates electronic music events. He holds a BA in international development studies from McGill University.
