Youness Atbane lives and works between Casablanca and Berlin. His practice takes as its focus the fields of art, their actors and the geopolitical context surrounding them. It consists of three interdependent areas: live performance as a space of reflection, installation making as an outcome of the act of performing and photographing, and drawing as an archival act. 

In 2008, Atbane participated in EX E.R.CE08, an MA program at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier. In 2010, he graduated with an MA in Art-Littérature et Muséologie from the University of Nice. 

Atbane has exhibited installations and staged performances at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, a parallel project at the 2011 Venice Biennale, the Institut du Monde Arabe, the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, the Ostrale Biennale, the Headlands Center for the Arts, MASS MoCA, the British Museum and Mucem Museum.
