Youssef Chebbi is a Tunisian writer and filmmaker. He has directed two short films, Vers le Nord (2010) and Les Profondeurs (2012), both of which were selected to be shown at several international festivals. He co-directed the documentary Babylon (2012), which won the jury prize at FID Marseille and was shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York as part of its exhibition Mapping Subjectivity: Experimentation in Arab Cinema from the 1960s to Now, Part III. His directorial feature debut Ashkal (2022) was screened in the Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight program.
