Krystel Khoury is a dance dramaturge and a performing arts researcher born and raised in Beirut. Her work and practice focuses on embodied knowledge and body politics, collaborative choreographic processes, arts education, and anthropological theories. Amongst her latest contributions are Theatre Against Borders (Arts Mdpi) and Dancing in The Waiting Room (ASA 18, Oxford University). Trained as a dancer, Krystel holds an MA in Performing Arts from Université de Lyon (2006) and a PhD in Anthropology of Dance and Intercultural Dynamics from Auvergne University (2014).

Krystel has collaborated with many cultural organizations including The Arab Theatre Training Centre (Lebanon), Al Balad Theatre (Jordan), Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Egypt), Roberto Cimetta Fund (France) amongst others; in designing, implementing or coordinating initiatives around professional dance and theatre development for artists in the Arab region. From 2017 till 2019, she led as artistic director the Open Border Ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele in Munich. Krystel is part of the Mophradat team as grants coordinator. She is currently the head professor of the Institut Supérieur des Arts et des Chorégraphies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, in Brussels - Belgium.
