Arab Documentary Film Program - 2012
A Lebanese film director, screenwriter and producer. Her works so far have been the fruit of collaboration with Khalil Joreige. A Perfect Day (2005) is one of their most acclaimed films, and earned them the Don Quixote Award and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Locarno International Film Festival. They also received acclaim for Around the Pink House, which was Lebanon's official Best Foreign Language Film submission at the 72nd Academy Awards. She also collaborated with Khalil on the 2008 feature fiction, I want to See, which starred Catherine Deneuve and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard. Their documentary The Lebanese Rocket Society premiered at Toronto Film Festival 2012. The directors have also created several photographic and video installations. In 2012 she won the prestigious Abraaj Capital Art Prize.
