A dedicated documentarist since his first S-8mm documentary in 1977. For most of the 80’s, Mikael worked with distribution and theatrical release of documentaries. He is a producer of international documentaries since the 90’s and a Production Adviser at The Danish Film Institute 1998-2002.  He was the co-owner of Final Cut Productions in Copenhagen from 2002 to 2008 and a board member of the European Documentary Network (EDN) between 2005 and 2008, the last year as Chairman and currently Head of Studies at EDN.
