Novelist and founder of a publishing house for contemporary Arabic literature. Her passion for writing and literature has led her to be a regular contributor to the cultural periodicals of the An-Nahar Al-Arabi and the An-Nahar International, published in Paris where she lived during the Lebanese civil war. On her return to Beirut, she founded a new publishing house – Dar al-Jadeed – together with her brother, Lokman Slim. They duo are at the helm of independent publishing and are playing an active role in highlighting the contemporary Arab cultural landscape. Her novel, Yowm Al-Qiyama or The Judgment Day (2002) has been translated to French and English and was acclaimed by critics. She has also written a story for children called Petit Pays.
