Within the frame of their partnership, The Arab Fund for Arts & Culture (AFAC) and The Festival Academy (an initiative of the European Festivals Association) are delighted to invite festival managers from the Arab region to apply for one of the Ateliers for Young Festival Managers organised by The Festival Academy. The Atelier is a 7-day training programme on the artistic aspects of festival management bringing together festival managers from all over the world.
The partnership was launched in 2018 in order reinforce the festival scene and build skills of festival managers and AFAC will again support two emerging festival directors working in the Arab region per Atelier for Young Festival Managers to take place in 2020:
Atelier Düsseldorf 23-29 May 2020, Germany | Organised in partnership with the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and Theater der Welt.
Apply here by 15 October.
Atelier Kampala 14-20 August 2020, Uganda | Organised in partnership with Bayimba Foundation and Festival.
Apply here by 15 October.
Are you eager to exchange ideas with a diverse group of creative minds coming from all over the world, to become part of a festival makers’ global community now counting more than 650 festival leaders and to meet up with both emerging and expert festival leaders, cultural activists and artists to critically reflect for 7 days on the role of festivals in today’s world? 35 participants will be selected per Atelier!
The Atelier addresses early career artistic directors, programmers and curators working for art organisations or festivals, as well as those working in a programme related department in a festival.
Participants leave the Atelier with extended programming skills, a broad new personal and professional network, and inspiration for new (collaboration) projects. You can find testimonies from participants of previous editions of the Atelier here.
