Summer is around the corner, and so is AFAC’s second grant cycle. In this cycle, we welcome applications for the Music, Cinema, and Training and Regional Events programs.

Each of our three programs in this cycle has a dedicated landing page where you can see all the details, including the eligibility criteria, how to apply, and the types of projects supported by each program.

But before diving into the details of each program, have a look at the brief of each program below, and visit the landing pages for more information.

Remember: The deadline to submit your application is July 4, 2023, at 17:00 Beirut time (+3 GMT), exclusively online, via the AFAC website. If you have any questions about the process or the grants please review our FAQs section and our layout of the evaluation process. Who can apply?

AFAC is open to receiving project applications from all individuals from the Arab region working in arts and culture irrespective of age, years of experience, country of residence (the Arab region or the diaspora), race, ethnicity, gender, or religion.

AFAC also accepts proposals from local, regional, and international institutions whose projects are related to Arab culture. These include artistic, cultural, social, and educational institutions, curators, centers and organizations, governmental and non-governmental, that are engaging with contemporary Arab arts and culture.

Cinema

AFAC’s Cinema program supports all kinds of fiction film projects. The Cinema program welcomes submissions of short and medium-length narrative films in production and post-production, as well as feature narratives that are in development, production, or post-production phases.

The program provides annual grants up to USD 10,000 for development grants, up to USD 50,000 for production grants for feature-length and USD 20,000 for short and medium-length, and up to USD 25,000 for post-production grants for feature-length, and USD 10,000 for short and medium-length films.

Music

AFAC’s Music grant supports production, performances, collaborations, album recordings, music-related podcasts, and festivals.

The program provides annual grants up to USD 25,000 for individuals and teams, and up to USD 35,000 for institutions and collectives.

Training and Regional Events

AFAC’s Training and Regional Events grant supports training and workshops in the different cultural and artistic fields, in addition to residencies, symposiums, forums, and festivals (multidisciplinary, music, film, performing arts, visual arts, and literature).

The program provides annual grants up to USD 25,000 for individuals and teams and up to USD 35,000 for institutions and collectives.
