Mohamed Mahdy is a graduate of PUA Arts and Design. He has two diplomas from Denmark's Danish School for Media and Journalism. Mohamed was named a 2018 emerging photographer by The New York Times and a Photography and Social Justice Fellow of the Magnum Foundation in 2021. In 2022, The Guardian celebrated him among five emerging talents in photojournalism. He has exhibited at the Sharjah Art Foundation, Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, the Altonaer Museum, Photoville Festival, Geo Polis Belgium, MEI Institute, and Institut du Monde Arabe. Recently, he won the World Press Photo 2023 regional and global award, Canon-student-Development-program 2022, and National Geographic Middle-East 2017.
