Driss Ouaamar is a multi-disciplinary artist and filmmaker based in Ouarzazate, Morocco. He is a graduate of the National Fine Arts Institute of Tetouan and Film at Ibn Zohr University in Ouarzazate. Driss’s work explores the intersection of traditional and contemporary art forms, often incorporating mythology, rituals, and oral practices into his visual art. Through field research, he collects and integrates relevant materials into his work. His artistic practice aims to revive disappearing oral traditions and enhance their transmission to younger generations of North Africans. Driss’s works include participations in collective exhibitions like All the Countries Without Legends Are Condemned to Freeze to Death (LE18, Marrakech, 2021-2022) and Watermark Memories (La Maison de l’Oralité, Ait Benhaddou, 2022).
