Onomatopoeia was established in October 2013 and registered as an official NGO in 2014. The music hub is a music concept space. The hub strives to disseminate musical culture, help musicians to work, experiment, and promote their projects, and support music education for underprivileged children. The space consists of a music school, performance space, cafe, and rehearsal space. Since 2013, Onomatopoeia has hosted more than 500 music performances staged by local and international artists, which have attracted more than 12,000 attendees. The hub’s musical skills development program has served more than 1,000 students, about 10 percent of whom received partial or full coverage of their tutoring fees. The Musical Skills Development Program has supported more than 50 musicians by giving them the opportunity to work with a fixed income.
