Farah Hallaba obtained her masters of arts in social anthropology and visual ethnography from the University of Kent. She started @anthropology_bel3arabyأنثروبولوجي بالعربي in 2019, with the aim of fostering engagement with anthropology in Arabic and in an accessible way. Since then, she has been producing short, online videos and organizing collaborative workshops. These resulted in the Being Borrowed multi-media exhibition and publication in 2022. Farah was a resident teaching fellow at the Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS), where she taught ethnographic studies in the 2021-2022 programming year. She also shares a creative space in downtown Cairo, where she collaborates with artists and participates in creative discussion-based knowledge production.
