Foundation for Arab Music Archiving and Research (AMAR)

Lebanon
AMAR is a non-governmental organization founded in 2009 to preserve, digitize, and disseminate early 20th-century Arab art music. Its extensive record collection — among the largest Arab music archives — is rooted in the Nahda and includes around 10,000 records (78 rpm discs) and around 6,000 hours of reel-to-reel recordings. To protect and digitize this rare collection, AMAR operates a studio dedicated to conservation efforts.
