Hashim Nasr is a self-taught Sudanese visual artist whose work explores themes of heritage, identity, and childhood memories through surreal, avant-garde photography. Using portraiture, props, and carefully chosen locations, he constructs dreamlike, otherworldly narratives that delve into the subconscious and examine themes such as gender equality and diversity. After graduating with a degree in dentistry, Hashim turned his focus to art photography, developing a practice rooted in surrealism. Currently based in Alexandria, Egypt, his recent work reflects on the consequences of life in exile.
