Atheel Elmalik, based in Doha, is a Sudanese writer and filmmaker whose work delves into stories of movement, migration, intergenerational healing, and connections to the sentience of the more-than-human world, exploring people's liberated relationships with land. She holds a degree in anthropology from Stanford University and has held curatorial positions at institutions like the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Alongside her experience as a producer, assistant director, and script supervisor in film and television, Atheel is currently developing her first narrative short film, Sundial.
