Jad Chahine is an Egyptian filmmaker born in Cairo in 1996. After graduating from media school, he studied filmmaking at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Egypt in 2018. He worked on several independent films and collaborated as an assistant director and casting director with Egyptian filmmaker Yousry Nasrallah. His short film Al Toraa’ (The Call of the Brook) was the first Egyptian film to be selected for the  La Cinef competition since 2014, as a part of Cinéma de Demain. Jad is currently developing his first feature film.
