Mohamad El-Hadidi

Mohamad El-Hadidi is a filmmaker and co-founder of Rufy's Films, an independent film collective and production house based in Alexandria, Egypt. An alumnus of the Berlinale Talents 2018, Mohamad studied filmmaking at the Jesuits Film School in Alexandria in 2009. Shortly thereafter, he participated in Egypt's January 25 revolution. Several films Mohamad has been involved in have been screened at festivals such as the Berlinale, IDFA, TIFF, Tampere, São Paulo, Dubai, AFI Fest, and DOK Leipzig. After relocating to Berlin, he is exploring the new reality of "distance" through a series of cinematic projects. His latest short film, Bandido (2024), addresses this theme.
