Rasha Shahin, a filmmaker based in Cairo, was born and raised in Syria, where she began her journey into cinema by working in documentary filmmaking and as an assistant director on several films. In 2013, she moved to Egypt and joined the High Institute of Cinema, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in film directing and later became a member of the Egyptian Film Syndicate. Rasha’s focus has slowly moved to creating her own films and exploring the effective production methods. In 2024, she completed her first short film, A PassingDay, developed in a workshop supervised by director Hala al-Abdalla, with collaboration from production designer Onsi Abou Seif. Rasha is currently working on her debut feature film, Exodus.
