Sawsan Alsafadi began her dance career in 1999 with the Enana Dance Theatre in Damascus for training professional dancers. She participated in the troupe's performances in Damascus and abroad, both in solo and group roles. In 2005, she moved to France to study choreography at Paris 8 University, later earning an MA on the impact of dance on trainee balance from Paris 10 University. She went on to study the Laban Movement Notation System at the National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris, completing a four-year MA program. During her time in France, Sawsan continued to train through modern and contemporary dance workshops, taught modern dance to children and a fusion of belly and modern dance to adults, and choreographed several performances for her own dance troupe. In 2019, Sawsan returned to Syria to teach modern dance, founding the School of Dance and Performing Arts in Suwayda.
