Mirzo Music Institute was established in 2019 in the Iraqi city of Sinjar with a mission to rebuild society through music and art. The institute specifically focuses on Ezidi heritage and identity, offering training to artists and trying to document and revitalize Ezidi musical heritage. 

The institute is primarily supported by musician Gani Mirzo under the umbrella of Mirzo Music Foundation based in Spain, which lobbies and collects donations and musical instruments for collectives facing war and conflict in Syria and Iraq.
