Imed Rezgui

Tunisia
Imed Rezgui is a multi-instrumentalist who has supervised rhythm arrangements for numerous albums. Hailing from northwestern Tunisia, he began to explore percussion at 14, inspired by the region’s Bedouin musical traditions. This early passion led him to India, where he trained with Pandit Shankar Ghosh, learning the tabla, kanjira, and ghatam. Today, Imed explores the fusion of Tunisian, Maghrebi, African, and Asian rhythms. He has contributed to numerous musical projects rooted in Tunisian heritage, such as Bargou, Halfaouine, Chaouia, Welada, Manamati, Qetayti, Oruq, Naseem, and Tarq. His project Zita reflects his experience in blending Western instruments with Tunisian rhythms.
