Rafeq AL Akori

Rafeq Al Akori holds an advanced diploma from the Higher Institute of Folk Arts in Egypt, with a specialization in folklore approaches and preservation techniques. He is the director general of the Yemeni Center for Musical Heritage and heads the Yemeni Organization for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage. He is also a national expert in safeguarding Yemen's intangible cultural heritage and serves as a liaison and supervisor for UNESCO’s Yemen projects. Rafeq has contributed to many national and international cultural heritage preservation initiatives, including UNESCO’s project to safeguard the Song of Sanaa and to document traditional children's game songs in Yemen. He is also a member of the International Council for Traditional Music and has participated in various workshops, conferences, and seminars that focus on cultural heritage.
