Ibrahim Omar is a Sudanese director who studied film at the Higher Institute of Cinema in Cairo and holds a diploma from the French University in Egypt. He founded Port Sudan Film Days, an annual short film festival, as well as Short, a magazine on film, and the Sudan Film Institute, which focuses on research in cinema, anthropology, and contemporary arts. Over the past decade, Omar has directed and produced various film projects for channels like Al Jazeera, including Sudanese Cinema (2016), Sudan is Coming Brown, Amer's Wedding (2019), Ride-on Cinema (2022), and a documentary titled Private Museums.
