Bouchra Khalili is a visual artist born in 1975 in Casablanca. She lives in Vienna and works itinerantly. Encompassing film, video, installation, photography, printmaking, and publishing, Bouchra’s practice explores imperial and colonial continuums as epitomized by contemporary instances of forced migration and the politics of memory of anti-colonial struggles and international solidarity. Her work has been shown in many international solo exhibitions, including at Fondation Luma, Arles (2023); MACBA, Barcelona (2015, 2023); Museum of Fine Arts Boston (2019); MoMA (NY), among others. She also participated in major group shows, including documenta 14 (2017), Venice Biennale (2024, 2011), Sharjah Biennale (2023, 2011).
