Jamal Abarnous, born in Hoceima, Morocco, in 1977, holds a PhD from the Center for Studies in Literature, Humanities and Arts at the Mohammed First University in Oujda. He earned his degree in 2015 with a thesis titled Traditional Amazigh Poetry in the Rif Region. Jamal currently works as a research professor and head of the Amazigh Studies Department in the same faculty and is affiliated with one of its research laboratories. He has published works, studies and translations in both Arabic and Amazigh and has contributed articles and entries on Amazigh literature and art to Moroccan magazines such as Al-Manahil, Moroccan Culture, as well as AFAQ and international publications like Popular Culture.
