Sara Shahin is an animation director from Cairo, Egypt. Her passion for art and storytelling began at an early age, where she was recognized for her artistic skills and love for cartoons and films. Sara studied painting, sculpture, printmaking, illustration, and animated filmmaking at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Zamalek in Cairo. During her bachelor studies, she worked on several local and international animated projects, including music videos and album covers.

In 2021, Sara graduated with a degree in animation and book illustration and directed her first animated short-film Into The Light (2021), which was selected for the Animae Caribe's Animation and Digital Media Festival and nominated for Best Student Short by Animatex Animation Festival. Recently, Sara was selected by Animatex Film Festival to attend the 2023 edition of Annecy's annual animation film festival in France. She was also awarded a grant by the Aswan International Women Film Festival for her upcoming short film.
