Dima Hamdan is a Palestinian-Jordanian journalist and filmmaker based in Berlin. She wrote and directed several short films in the UK, Jordan, Germany and Palestine. Her latest short film, Blood Like Water (2023), had its world premiere at the Oscar-qualifying Galway Film Festival. As a screenwriter, Dima has been awarded several grants in recognition of her work, including the Shasha Screenwriting Grant by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, the Göteborg Development Fund and the Royal Film Commission Development Fund. She has participated in several film labs and workshops, including HOTHOUSE — a development atelier by the London Film School — the Rawi-Sundance Middle Eastern Screenwriters’ Lab, Babylon International, Med Film Factory and Sud Ecriture.
