Jowe Harfouche is the Executive Director of the Network of Arab Alternative Screens, a growing constellation of non-governmental cinema spaces presenting visionary film programs that engage and challenge audiences across the Arab region. He is also a filmmaker. With Ginger Beirut, he produced feature films for the likes of Ghassan Salhab, Nadine Labaki, Simon El Haber, Ziad Doueiri, Vatché Boulghourjian, Rabih Mroué, Alia Farid, and Mark Lewis, working in various roles ranging from line producer and assistant director to post-producer and editor. As an independent filmmaker, he edited the feature film 28 Nights and a Poem by Akram Zaatari, and directed music videos for Mashrou’ Leila and Aziza. Born and raised in Lebanon, and with degrees in animation, film, and television production from Notre Dame University (Lebanon) and Trebas (Montreal, Quebec), Harfouche lives in Beirut.
