Meryam Joobeur is a Tunisian writer and director, based in Montréal, Canada. Her short films Gods, Weeds and Revolutions (2012) and Born in the Maelstrom (2017), the latter of which stars Sasha Lane, were screened in Tunisia and at international festivals. Her Oscar nominated short Brotherhood (2018) screened at more than 150 festivals and won 75 international prizes. She participated in the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, TIFF Talent Lab, Berlinale Talent Lab, Rawi Screenwriters Lab and the Med Film Factory.
