Soleil Gharbieh is an experienced professional in Arts management, film, and music. She joined
the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) as a Grants Manager in 2017, where she has been
responsible for managing AFAC’s Film Programs, including Documentary and Cinema, as well
as the Music Program.
Before joining AFAC, Soleil lived in Cairo, Egypt, from 2014 to 2016, where she immersed
herself in the dynamic local independent music scene while working with the Cairo Jazz Club
Agency (CJC Agency). This experience deepened her connection to the region’s creative
culture and enhanced her expertise in arts management.
From 2008 to 2014, Soleil worked as a Catalog Manager and Book Buyer at CIEL, a prominent
book distribution company in Lebanon. In this role, she focused on promoting literature locally
and at regional and international book fairs, further contributing to the cultural landscape.
Soleil’s work with AFAC has enabled her to serve on various film funding panels and pitching
forums both regionally and internationally, including the Chicken & Egg Fund, El Gouna Film
Festival, and Carthage Film Festival. Additionally, she was a jury member for the selection of
projects at the IDFA Forum and participated as a juror for the 2024 IDA Awards Feature
Documentary Jury.
