The Metropolis Association and the Goethe-Institut in Lebanon are launching the call for entries for the fourth edition of Talents Beirut. Between March 8 and May 8, 2017, cinematographers, editors, sound designers and music composers from the Arab World are invited to apply to the Talents Beirut, a programme that aims to reinforce Arab artists in their technical and artistic skills.
20 promising film talents from the Arab World will be selected by an international jury to attend the fourth edition of Talents Beirut which will take place in Beirut between the 21st and the 25th of September 2017.
Talents from Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen will be eligible to apply online at talents-beirut.com.
In its past three editions, Talents Beirut has welcomed more than 40 talents from the Arab World, allowing them to meet with established film professionals including Oscar-nominated director Joshua Oppenheimer (The Look of Silence), renowned cinematographer Caroline Champetier (Holy Motors), sound designer and Foley artist Nicolas Becker (Arrival), editor Peter R. Adam (Good Bye Lenin!) and music composer Khyam Allami (As I Open My Eyes).
Organized by the Metropolis Association and the Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the Berlinale Talents and FID Marseille, and with the support of the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the fourth edition of Talents Beirut will be held between the 21st and the 25th of September 2017, in parallel to the fourth edition of the German Film Week in Lebanon, organized by the Goethe-Institut.
