The AFAC Documentary Program-ADP launches its open call for 2018 introducing two new regulations: the creation of a development grant and the availability of the grant application in Arabic. Accordingly, AFAC will support documentary film projects through ADP only.
For the past five years, ADP has been offering grants for projects in production and post-production phases only, with applications available in English solely. As part of AFAC’s reflection on the past decade and revisiting of the grants scheme, ADP will now support documentary projects in development, production and post-production phases allowing for more opportunities to documentary makers from the region. Additionally, the Arabic grant application form will cater to a wider base of potential applicants.
Short, medium- and feature-length documentary projects are eligible to apply to ADP for a development (up to $10,000), production or post-production grant (up to $50,000).
With ADP becoming a more comprehensive and accessible grants program for documentary projects in the region, AFAC grant for cinema (Open Call between 1 May and 1 August, 2018) will no longer receive documentary proposals and will be open to fiction exclusively, including animation, experimental, essay…; and for projects of all lengths.
Please visit the program’s page and consult the guidelines for more details.
ADP call for applications is open between 1 February and 1 May, 2018.
